Parent Expectations
The Saline Cooperative Preschool administrative duties are conducted by member parents and the elected school board. Parents volunteer their time, skills, and energy to help the school run efficiently and to keep tuition cost-effective. Parents are expected to:
Assist Parent
Many families are concerned about assisting in the classroom due to personal/work schedules and finding child care for younger siblings. Any relative or nanny may work in your place as long as they have a clearance form on file. The nature of a co-op involves helping one another. Often other parents in your class will trade sitting duties with each other. Your Session Chair will gladly assist you with finding other parents with similar needs so that arrangements can be made. Our school also offers an opt out program where you may pay another co-op member to work in your place as well as special rates for Non Assist positions. Ask for details!
DHS Clearance Form
Every adult who works in the classroom must have a clearance form on file. Individuals requesting a Central Registry clearance on themselves who are Michigan residents should complete the Central Registry Clearance Request (DHS-1929) form. Mail or hand-deliver the completed DHS-1929 form and a copy of your picture identification to: Washtenaw County Central Registry 22 Center Street Ypsilanti, MI 48198-9965 Note: Results will ONLY be mailed to the address on the picture identification. You may contact the office at 734-481-2000.
